A former journalist, she has a degree in both journalism and education from Central Michigan University having taken two years of undergraduate coursework at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and graduate work in communications at Western Michigan University. She taught high school and middle school English for several years, two of which were at an English-speaking school in Honduras, Central America. She also served for a time as Managing Director of The Scriptorium: Center for Christian Antiquities. The Scriptorium, now located in Orlando, Florida, houses a large collection of ancient Christian manuscripts and early printed editions of the Bible and related documents, which are made available for scholarly research and for guided viewing by the public. As vice president of Investment Property Associates, Inc., of Grand Haven, Michigan, Van Kampen had a successful 20-plus year career in various roles related to the development of investment real estate throughout western Michigan. She lives in Spring Lake, Michigan with her husband, Warren, a retired physician turned musician. They have four grown children and three grandsons.
Margery Lembke is a woman of faith who often shares with Bev in leading retreats, in presenting women’s Bible studies, and in mentoring those who want to develop a closer relationship with God. She wrote the prayers for each week of The GodSense Devotional. Marge is a life-long learner having received her degree in theology from Aquinas College at the youthful age of 67. She has experienced a long and intimate walk with Jesus and openly and enthusiastically shares his work in her life. Her study of relaxation techniques and conflict resolution combine with her thorough knowledge of the Bible to bring wisdom and effectiveness to her leadership in prayer, meditation, and counseling. In addition to her degree from Aquinas, she holds a Reality Therapy Certificate through the William Glasser Institute in Los Angeles. Marge has been involved in prayer ministry for more than 25 years. Marge serves on the board of directors for First Priority of the Lakeshore and in various leadership roles at Lakeshore Lutheran Church in Spring Lake. Additionally, she is involved in one-on-one counseling with numerous spiritual seekers and is involved in conflict resolution with people who have reached a seeming impasse in reconciliation of relationships. Marge’s role in spiritual retreats is to lead participants in various approaches to God including centering prayer, meditation, and listening prayer. Marge and her husband, Chuck, live in Spring Lake. Their four grown children are married and live with their families in various parts of the country. |
